Photos scroll, and new sites land where you typed
Site photos scroll and page back and forth, new sites save the address you typed instead of where you were standing, editing an address moves its pin, and the map opens framed on the property.
A run of fixes from working jobs this week. Most of these came from arborists watching the app do the wrong thing on a real driveway, which is the only way some of them were ever going to surface.
Site photos scroll, and you can page through them.On the Media tab, anything past the first screenful was unreachable, and opening a photo left you with no way forward. Photos now scroll, and the full-screen viewer has arrows plus an "n of N" counter so you can walk a whole set without closing it each time.
New sites land on the address you typed. The new site screen fills the map pin from your phone's location the moment it opens. If you added a property while standing somewhere else, it saved where you were instead of the address, sometimes by miles. Now the address you type wins unless the pin is close enough to be a genuine correction, so dropping a pin on a rural parcel still beats the road location the map service guesses.
Editing an address moves the pin. Correcting a wrong address used to leave the old coordinates behind, so the site kept pointing at the wrong place no matter how many times you fixed the street. Editing any part of the address, postcode included, now moves the location with it.
The map opens on the property. A site map used to open at a fixed zoom whatever the size of the job, so a large property opened on a patch of field and you had to zoom out every visit. It now frames itself around the trees that are actually there.
Address search follows the country you are in. The app remembered the first country it ever saw you in and quietly filtered every address search to it. Cross a border and you could type a local street and get nothing back. It now keeps up with you.
Your organizations are in alphabetical order when you switch between them, and jobs whose scheduled day has passed now show that date on the card instead of sitting silently under today.
One thing worth knowing: sites you already saved keep the location they were saved with. The fixes above apply when a site is created or edited, so if you have a property sitting in the wrong spot, open it, edit the address and save. That is enough to put it right.
The phone fixes arrive over the air. Open More, tap Refresh app, and you are on the new version without waiting for an app store update.
