Talk to Arboris instead of typing

A microphone next to the send arrow. Tap, talk, tap again, and your words go straight to Arboris. Tap to start and stop rather than press and hold, because your hands are usually full.

There is a microphone next to the send arrow in Arboris now. Tap it, say what you want, tap it again. Your words go straight to Arboris. No hold, no keyboard, no thumbs.

We built it tap to start and tap to stop rather than press and hold, because you are usually holding something else. Gloves, a phone, a clipboard, one hand on the camera. Holding a button down through a long sentence is the thing we were trying to get rid of.

While it is recording you get a timer and two controls: a red square that stops and sends, and an X that throws the recording away. Use the X when you start talking and change your mind. Nothing is sent and nothing is transcribed.

It sends as soon as you stop. There is no review step, so read what lands and correct it in your next sentence if a name or a number came through wrong. Anything you had already typed is carried into the same message rather than dropped.

Two things to know. This is on the web today, and the phone app gets it in the next release. And your browser will ask for microphone access the first time, once.
